I’ve noticed that in the last couple of years, as I’ve become a better student of the Bible, ministry and other topics, opportunities to use new-found info. come more often. When I make time for reading, listening to audiobooks, podcasts and good old discussion with others, I find opportunities to use all my new “wisdom” on a regular basis.
Just yesterday, I was talking to one of the leaders in our student ministry, and he was going through something tough. Just that morning I had finished a chapter in a book I’d been working my way through that perfectly spoke to his questions/needs. If that was the first time that had happened, I could chalk it up to coincidence. If I had steered that conversation toward the topic of the chapter I’d just read, then I’d have the answer as to why it seems to be happening.
If you don’t… READ, LISTEN and LEARN! I wonder what I did before I kept myself fed. It adds a lot to my life, and certainly gives me things to say when people need advice!
